Words Connect: Textile Memories

In our "Words Connect" writing workshop, we will explore the theme of "Textile Memories," inspired by the exhibition of the same name by artist Varvara Keidan Shavrova. Textiles tell stories: of home, of flight and new beginnings, of loss and connection. They preserve memories often hidden between the threads.
Together, we will delve into the exhibition, drawing inspiration from the exhibits, materials, and the stories behind them. Then, we’ll take up our pens and bring our thoughts to life – whether as stories, poems, or brief fragments.
Our words become bridges: connecting languages, memories, and life stories. The workshop offers a creative and open space for dialogue, experimentation, and mutual inspiration. You’ll have the opportunity to share ideas, explore your creativity, and learn from one another.
The workshop will be conducted in German, English, and Polish. You are welcome to write in the language you feel most comfortable with.
Facilitators: Natalie Wasserman and Karolina Kuszyk
In collaboration with the Documentation Centre for Displacement, Expulsion, Reconciliation and the Polish Language Café.
Participation is free and no registration is required.
