"Welcome!" - "Ahilan Wasahlan!"
"Welcome!" - "Ahilan Wasahlan!"
Musical reading from the novel "The Unwelcome" by Marina Jenkner.
In this true story, the author juxtaposes solidarity with a family who fled Syria with her grandparents’ expulsion from East Prussia. The writer Marina Jenkner lives in Wuppertal. Her novel "Die Unwillkommenen," (“The Unwelcome”) published in 2019, is more topical than ever.
There will be music and songs from Syria and former East Prussia as well as songs by German poets-in-exile such as Lola Landau and Armin T. Wegner.
