Panel discussion and vernissage: En Route - How Do We Talk About Refugees Today?
People are escaping violence and war and are rarely welcome anywhere on their journey and after their arrival. Refugees experience exclusion and racism and are repeatedly instrumentalised as pawns of political interests.
Journalist Franziska Grillmeier and photographer Vincent Haiges have met refugees around the world and documented their journeys. Both will talk about their motivation and approach to visualising the situation of refugees.
At the same time, we are opening the gallery exhibition FluchtWege by Franziska Grillmeier and Vincent Haiges. It brings various landscapes in which people move and persevere along the borders of the European Union into a dialogue. The focus is on the refugees’ survival and their everyday lives away from the public eye.
