Opening: Gallery Exhibition Traces of Memory
Traces of Memory -
Photographs by Mustafah Abdulaziz
More than 114 million people are forcibly displaced worldwide today. Never before has this number been so high. But who are these people? Photographer Mustafah Abdulaziz portrays six people who have found refuge in Berlin. He also depicts their most important mementos: taken from a lost home or received from loved ones; objects that mean warmth and security, but also stand for traumatic experiences. A variety of memories have left deep traces.
The Documentation Centre for Displacement, Expulsion, Reconciliation is showing this gallery exhibition in cooperation with UNHCR, the United Nations Refugee Agency.
