On the occasion of the finissage of the special exhibition ‘Becoming Who You Are - Studying Despite Displacement’, we would like to talk about the transformative power of education, enjoy the music of the Berlin Philharmonic, and engage in conversation with one other.

Reading: Actress and author, Katja Riemann, will read from her book ‘Zeit der Zäune - Orte der Flucht’ [‘Time of Fences – Places of Displacement’] and share her personal impressions from travels and encounters in various displacement contexts.

Music: The Berlin Philharmonic is one of the best orchestras in the world, serves as a musical ambassador for the UN Refugee Agency, and will contribute to a special evening with an ensemble.

Interview: Photographer Antoine Tardy portrayed young refugees worldwide for UNHCR. Ann Chukulu comes from South Sudan and grew up in Uganda, where she studied journalism with the support of a DAFI scholarship. She now lives in Berlin and is doing a Masters in Film, TV and Digital Communication. , The two talk to Katja Riemann about their experiences and share stories about challenges, hopes, and successes.
