Film and talk - in English

Sohel Rahman's film tells the story of siblings Ayas and Asia in the Cox's Bazar refugee camp in Bangladesh. The film provides insights into the everyday camp life of the survivors of the Rohingya community in Bangladesh. In 2017, Myanmar carried out a military operation against the Rohingya Muslim minority. According to the UN, the massacres and expulsions reached genocidal proportions. The UN Human Rights Commissioner described the military offensive as a "textbook example of ethnic cleansing". Today, more than one million Rohingya live in abject poverty in refugee camps in Bangladesh. Their fate has been largely forgotten worldwide. Sohel Rahman's impressive documentary draws attention to this dramatic chapter of displacement in the 21st century.
