Arriving in a foreign homeland: 80 years after the end of the war – displacement and expulsion through personal stories

DIAL-IN TOUR
On the occasion of the anniversary, we shed light on the displacement and expulsion of around 14 million Germans from the eastern Reich and eastern European settlement areas. They had to leave their homes under extreme conditions. We take you by phone to the permanent exhibition and describe selected objects that illustrate the fates of individuals and families. It is about experiences of displacement and expulsion and the path into an uncertain future.
This time, we are focusing on the fates of refugees and expellees at their places of arrival after 1945.
