80 Years Ago – Displacement and Expulsion of the Germans
Sonntag, 04. Mai 2025, 11:30 – 13:00, Documentation Centre for Displacement, Expulsion, Reconciliation

GUIDED TOUR
At the end of the Second World War, millions of civilians had to flee from East and West Prussia, Pomerania, East Brandenburg, and Silesia. After the war, those still left in those territories were subsequently expelled, as were ethnic German minorities from the Sudentenland and other Eastern European countries. They all faced an uncertain future. Historical items and testimonies give us insights into how radically displacement and expulsion changed people’s lives and the meaning of having to start from scratch elsewhere.
