Guided tour: Moving Images – A Tour of Displacement and Photography

On 27 October 2024 and 24 November 2024, there will be a themed tour at 11:30 a.m. titled ‘Moving Images – A Tour of Displacement, Expulsion, and Photography’.

Photographs play a central role in the memory of displacement and expulsion – they shape our perception of experiences of displacement and the causes of flight. We also show a large number of photos in our permanent exhibition that were taken at different times and in different places. But who actually takes photos of displacement and expulsion? In what situations are these images taken and on whose behalf? What happens to them afterwards? And do these images always reflect reality?
