"City of Refuge" by The Krank

From now until the end of September, the Foundation is presenting four large-format paintings by the artist The Krank. They were created during this year's Long Night of Museums, during a live performance by the artist. The theme of the works is Zufluchtsstadt Berlin. Born in Greece in 1988, the artist's artworks are inspired by his own family history and the experience of his grandfather, who fled the Greek-Turkish war in 1921.

Each part of his art tells us its own story, which ultimately culminates in a panoramic montage of personal narratives and nostalgic memories. This artistic landscape focuses particularly on the human by highlighting the psychosocial effects of the uprooting experience.
