Aural and tactile tour: A European history of forced migration
Part 1: A EUROPEAN HISTORY OF FORCED MIGRATION – an audio-tactile tour of the first floor of the permanent exhibition
Why do people have to flee in the 20th and 21st centuries? The reasons are often manifold, but they always lead to loss and the necessity of a new beginning in a strange place. But what do national anthems, bomb splinters and the most modern payment technology in refugee camps tell us about the causes of displacement and expulsion and about the experiences of people who have to flee?
On our inclusive tour, we will get to know objects from different geographical contexts and personal stories from different times through audio and tactile impressions, and discuss recurring phenomena of displacement and expulsion.
